Abstract
Social forestry is one of the government's efforts in empowering communities around forests. Until 2023, the area of social forestry reaches 5,625,137 hectares. In East Java, Banyuwangi Regency is an area that has the largest area of social forestry. In its implementation, each Social Forestry Group forms Kelompok Usaha Perhutanan Sosial (KUPS). KUPS Maju Jaya Madu is one of the KUPS in Banyuwangi that has a gold category. However, the management of social forestry business also involves risks that need to be analyzed and managed properly in order to achieve the desired goals. The purpose of this study is to determine the sources of risk and risk management strategies in KUPS Maju Jaya Madu. The analysis tool used is a fishbone diagram. The results showed that there are three sources of risk, namely institutional governance, regional governance, and corporate governance. These risks must be managed to protect the KUPS from risks that hinder the achievement of objectives and various things that have the potential to cause losses to the KUPS.
